Rostock Airways (Rostock) is a start-up airline from North Germany that will take over Austrian airline Air Alps (A6, Innsbruck) within the next few days. According to Austrian-Aviation-Net the start-up plans to launch operations on February 3 with twice weekdaily flights from Bremen to Zurich, a route that has been left unserved for nearly a year after the collapse of OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland). The flights will be operated with an Air Alps Dornier 328 and are already listed in GDS systems. In the near future Rostock Airways plans to add more routes from Bremen including Brussels National and Gothenburg Landvetter. ch-aviation has learned from sources within Dresden Airport that it also plans to operate flights from Dresden to Zurich. Original plans for services from Rostock have however been dropped in favor of the planned first base at Bremen. (ch-aviation)

Air Alps has resumed scheduled operations

Air Alps (A6, Innsbruck) has finally received its air operator certificate again and has resumed scheduled operations on flights between Bremen Neuenland and Zurich on behalf of Rostock Airways (Rostock) with its single Do328-100 OE-LKA (cn 3110). Its German partner had been forced to temporarily wet-lease an ATR72-200 from ACMI specialist Avanti Air (ATV, Siegen) for its first week and a half of its Bremen-Zurich service as Air Alps did not yet have the necessary permits in place to resume operations in time.
